Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Newsletter Subscription: When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address. We may also collect your name if you choose to provide it.
- Contact Information: If you contact us directly, we may receive additional information about you such as your name, email address, and the contents of your message.
Information Collected Automatically
When you visit our website, we automatically collect certain information, including:
- Usage Data: Pages visited, time spent on pages, links clicked, scroll depth, and other engagement metrics.
- Device Information: Browser type, operating system, device type, and screen resolution.
- Location Data: General geographic location based on IP address (country/region level only).
Information Collected at Subscription
When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect the following technical information in addition to the email address you provide:
- IP Address: Used for spam prevention and geographic analytics.
- Device Type: Whether you subscribed from a mobile, tablet, or desktop device.
- Browser: The browser used at the time of subscription.
This information is retained as long as your subscription is active. You may request deletion of this data at any time by contacting us at hello@longevitysciencedaily.com.
The Longevity Lifestyle Score quiz
When you take the quiz, we save each answer as you give it, one at a time. That includes the three questions about you (gender, age band and relationship status) and your answer to each scored question. If you stop partway, the answers you gave up to that point stay saved. If you finish, we also save your score. The quiz is offered through links in our emails.
- What we save with your answers: the page you arrived from, any campaign tags in the link, your device type and browser, and when you started and last answered. With a finished quiz we also keep a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address, not the address itself.
- Your email address: the quiz asks for it only when you came through a personal link in one of our emails and the link does not name you (you chose "Not you?", the link is no longer valid, or it could not be read). Then it asks you to type an address, which we store with your answers and do not email, and which is never added to the answers we keep for a later visit by that address. In every other case the quiz does not ask for it. If you open the quiz from an older personal link in one of our emails (a long link with your details encoded in it, not a /q/ link), the link tells us who you are. We then save your email address with your answers, from your first click. We use it to follow up on your result and to fill in the questions about you if you take the quiz again. When you finish, for those older links, we add that address to our newsletter list if it is not on it already. With it goes a short label of your result (your score band and weakest pillar), the campaign tags from the link and the page you arrived on. The list is run by ConvertKit, our email provider. If adding you to the list fails, we keep a short error record with your IP address and browser so we can fix the fault.
- If you came from a cold email link (a link that starts with /q/): the link holds a random code, not your address. We keep a record of that code in a table called quiz_contacts: your email address, the name of the campaign that reached you, and the times you first opened the link and first started the quiz. We keep it so the link knows who it was sent to, and so we can tell which campaign brought a reader. We have not yet set a date after which this record is removed. When we set one, it will be written here. Opening the link sets a cookie in your browser for 30 days that names the record; the page shows only a masked form of your address. "Not you?" clears the cookie that names the record and keeps a flag that holds no data, and the page then asks for an address, which is stored with your answers and is not emailed. When you finish, we may send you one email from hello@longevitysciencedaily.com about our guide. Unless you already get our newsletter or tick the box, we tag your address in our email provider (ConvertKit) so our newsletter leaves you out. We add you to our newsletter only if you tick the box on the quiz page. The first time the offer page for the guide is opened from a personal link is noted on that link's record, never an address. You can ask us to remove the record at any time by writing to hello@longevitysciencedaily.com.
- Where it is kept: in our database. It is not public: only our servers and our team can read it. We do not send your answers to Google Analytics or to any advertiser.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Send you our newsletter and relevant content updates (if you've subscribed)
- Respond to your inquiries and communications
- Analyze website usage to improve our content and user experience
- Monitor and prevent technical issues
- Comply with legal obligations
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors interact with our website. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect and analyze information about website usage.
We have implemented Google Analytics with privacy-conscious settings:
- IP anonymization is enabled
- We do not share analytics data with other Google products for advertising
- We respect your browser's “Do Not Track” signals where technically feasible
You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track activity on our website. Cookies are small data files stored on your device.
Types of cookies we use:
- Essential Cookies: Required for website functionality (e.g., remembering your cookie preferences). These cannot be disabled.

Email Communications
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we use SendGrid to deliver emails. Your email address is stored securely and is never sold to third parties.
Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email us at hello@longevitysciencedaily.com to request removal from our mailing list.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in these circumstances:
- Service Providers: We work with trusted third parties (hosting, email delivery, analytics) who process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including to satisfy legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.
- Newsletter subscribers: Until you unsubscribe
- Analytics data: 26 months (GA4 default)
- Contact inquiries: 2 years after last contact
- Quiz answers, including unfinished ones: stored in our database and protected to the same standard as the rest of your data. We have not yet set a date after which they are removed. When we set one, it will be written here. You can ask us to remove your quiz answers at any time by writing to hello@longevitysciencedaily.com. We can find them when they carry your email address. That happens when you opened the quiz from a personal link in one of our emails, or when you typed your address on the result screen before 23 September 2026, when that box was removed.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data
- Portability: Request transfer of your data to another service
- Objection: Object to processing of your personal data
